How To Podcast

Using A Co-Host Podcaster

There can be many benefits to having a second podcaster involved in your podcast. One of these reasons could be that you may have a second host using the other podcaster's site. This could alleviate some of the bandwidth pressure that may happen if your site becomes very popular. This second podcaster could also have a secondary site which presents the same podcast is on your site. This creates a double convert for your podcast on the Internet, as it can now be searched through two different sources. You could also both estimate your podcast separate lead to the same directories and hopefully get double the exposure in that manner.

Another benefit is through the use of two voices. One or two podcasters common there is a greater chance that each podcaster can talk during the same podcast or in different issues of the same podcast. The different voices could help keep the listeners involved and interested in what is going on. They also bring two different perspectives as well as two different knowledge bases into the podcasts, allowing for greater wealth of information for listener.

Aside from this conceptual benefit which can be very appealing to the listeners, there are both administrative and workload benefits. Together, the two podcasters can split the work and can do twice the work with the same effort or half the work with less effort. The amount of time which can be saved by splitting the work between two parties is tremendous. This division of the workload and can create more time for each of you to work on different projects or to expand upon the existing project in a faster and more efficient manner.

While there are many benefits of having a partner in a podcast project common there are of course going to be negative problems. One such problem is that one podcaster may feel that he or she is doing more work than the other podcaster. It is hard to make sure that the work is equally divided in order to make sure that both podcasters are contributing the same amount of time and effort into the project. It is so important that a schedule be maintained were both podcasters are available in order to work with each other. This in a very difficult task but it could help alleviate some of the fear that the other person is not contributing his or her fair share.

Of course, there is a key vantage in producing your podcast on your own without another podcaster. You are in total control, both conceptually and intellectually, of your podcast. You do not need somebody else's opinion or agreement with what you choose to do with your podcast. You can also choose how often you want to produce without having to meet someone else's timeline or schedule. You could still take part in doing double listed podcast shows with others, but on a less frequent basis.
