Text Tagging And Link Anchoring



Another method by which you can use to increase the visibility of your site or podcasts is through a technique called text tagging. Text tagging is the use of enclosing the link for your site or parts of your site as a special keyword linked within the description provided on your site or podcasts page.

These often look like ordinary URL links except that they are delegated as a tag with in the HTML script and a keyword will be placed outside of the script code itself.

The secion of rel='tag' refers to a specific HTML code which identifies the link as a tag for search engines. Technically, this link and go to any site of your choice. It is hard to embed these kinds of tags into your description when you are posting your descriptions onto podcasting directories or search engines.


Link anchoring a similar technique that can be extremely beneficial for your podcast and its website. Link anchoring is the act of using HTML code to link to your podcast or website directly using an often used search engine search phrase. An example of this is:

Podcasting for dummies

In this set up, the term that is shown as 'podcasting for dummies' is considered to be anchor text. This phrase may not be actual name of your podcasting folder or podcast itself, but is instead a search phrase which people may use to find your site. Use this kind of link anchor in the signature of your account on various podcasting related forums or forms are related to your subject area. This will help increase the search ability of your site and help you gain a larger audience.
