How To Podcast

Podcasting Format One Speaker with More Than One Topic

Choosing the right podcasting format is very important in order to have a successful podcast. One type of podcasting format is whether as a single speaker who deals with more than one topic. This is different than the format which used more than one podcaster with either the same topic or separate topics. In this format, the podcaster can discuss a variety of topics at it is also important that these for ideas topics are kept to a single related area. For example, if the podcaster’s main topic is sports, then the show should stayed with sports and can explore many facets of the world of sports.

The reason that someone may choose to use this type of podcasting format is that it will bring a variety of different listeners in to the podcast. The listener base can expand and subscribers can come from all different types of areas in order to listen to the variety of topics discussed in the single podcast. It is important however that the podcaster stick to a single topic area, although he or she can branch out into different areas of that topic. However, should you run a sports podcast you should avoid talking about politics or how to build a house.

Having different groups of listeners can be very important in supporting a podcast. When there are a variety of listeners to pay attention to your podcast, it is more likely that your podcast will succeed and do well. You are also more likely to gain subscribers and you can promote your podcast through a variety of methods on many directories and search engines.

It may be easy to forget about this, seeing as how we were all one gender or the other, but you should also make sure that a podcast which deals with multiple topics, or branches of the same topic, addresses both men and women. What a podcast addresses both men and women, it can, again, have a new wider base of listeners and subscribers. Try to appeal to as many people as possible in order to make sure that your podcast will be successful and popular.

In this podcasting format, the podcaster wants to make sure to let the listeners know what is going to be airing ads the beginning of the podcast. This is important because the listeners will not have to listen to the podcast, unless they are interested this week. This podcasting format is key because men do not want to hear about women’s health and vice versa versa. If the podcast deals with entertainment or multiple different crowds, then it needs to cater to its audiences correctly so listeners do not get bored with the podcast.

Any podcasting format requires this next rule: the podcaster must make sure not to talk about one topic for a long period of time. This kind of talking can get the audience bored and, if the podcaster’s audience is bored, then chances are that these listeners will not be coming back to hear the next broadcast. By keeping topics short and sweet, the podcaster will get the audience to return again and again; the goal of any podcaster is to make sure that he or she can encourage listeners to return again and again to the same podcast.

Podcasters do not often switch their format. It is not likely that you will find a podcast which will switch from having a single person talking about multiple topics to more than one podcaster talking about the same topic. It is also not likely that someone would change from doing a fairly standard podcast format to doing an interview podcast format.

However, it is okay to switch things up now and again. There may be someone of particular interest in the sports world that you may do an interview with on your sports formatted, single person discussing multiple topics podcast. Switching formats is not uncommon so do not be afraid to change podcasting formats.

Should you decide to change formats of your podcast somewhere in the middle beginning or end of the podcast, it is very important that there be some sort of reason for this change. For instance, you may choose to do an interview with someone. This is a okay method of changing formats for one or more broadcasts. You do not necessarily change your entire format or you may change it temporarily.
